  • Music for young children: Lots of places available in MusicPlay classes for 2-3 yrs and 4-5 yrs, and in our after-school intro-to-music class, MusicMakers for young school students aged 5-7 yrs. Free Come and Try Sessions on Tue 22 January and Thu 24 January – contact info@macqcon.org.au for details
  • Group tuition classes are a great way to learn an instrument - playing together with others makes your music lesson more enjoyable, plus it’s more affordable. See the Schedule above for a list of available group classes in various instruments: more groups can be scheduled if there’s interest
  • Guitar group classes: lots of new beginner classes for youth and adults
  • Ukulele group classes: a class for kids aged from 7yrs, and an evening class for adults & teens - join and learn this popular instrument
  • Drumming: teens and adults of all ages and skill levels including beginners are welcome to join the Drum Ensemble
  • Year 6 wind and brass students moving up to secondary school: sign up for an after-school elementary group tuition class; days and times will be worked out with enrolling students. There may also be options to have tuition at your school.  Download Yr 6 to Yr 7 Info and Inquiry Form here
  • Music Theory: sign up for a music theory class; days and times will be worked out with enrolling students
  • Ensembles in Flute, Brass, Wind, Strings, Chamber Music, Band, Drumming: visit Ensembles page for more info

How to enrol with Macquarie Conservatorium


For NEW students

  • Visit Programs to read about our tuition and music-making options for all ages, youth to adult, and all levels, beginner to advanced
  • Download and read the Enrolment Guidelines and the Schedule of Fees and Classes (above) for more information about enrolling
  • If you are interested in making an inquiry for a specific tuition type, class or activity, download, complete and return an Inquiry Form (above)
  • We will then contact you to discuss your inquiry. If your request can be accommodated, you will be advised and sent Membership and Enrolment forms
  • If you have any queries please email info@macqcon.org.au


For Re-enrolling students from 2018

  • Due date for re-enrolment is MONDAY 3 DECEMBER 2018
  • Re-enrolment Package with info and forms has been sent to you
  • Please read the Enrolment Guidelines, the Participant Guidelines and the Fee Policy carefully before enrolling: download above
  • Complete and sign your Membership Form and Enrolment Form and return both forms to the Conservatorium office, together with payment of your membership fee and a fee deposit of $60 per student or activity, by the due date: MONDAY 3 DECEMBER
  • You will be sent an invoice for the remainder of your tuition fees in January

If you think you might have difficulty managing fee payments for music tuition, there are options you can consider:

  • Macquarie Conservatorium offers affordable group class tuition: for details, download Schedule of Fees and Classes (above). More group classes can be scheduled if there is demand, so please let us know if you would be interested in group tuition, by completing an Enrolment Inquiry Form (download above)
  • Macquarie Conservatorium offers discounts on some tuition for families with multiple children and multiple tuition enrolments, and discounts on tuition for pensioners; details in the Fee Policy (download above)
  • You can request to pay by instalments, outlining the reason for your request; this is explained in the Fee Policy (download above)
  • Macquarie Conservatorium provides bursary support for students experiencing financial difficulty; visit the Bursary page for more info and to download the Bursary Guidelines and Application Form
  • The Smith Family runs a great “Saver Plus Program” that can contribute up to $500 towards your child’s extra activities for eligible families. To find out more, phone 6881 8032


Macquarie Conservatorium has some instruments available for hire to students enrolled for tuition with Macquarie Conservatorium. The cost is $63 per term.

  • If you currently hire an instrument through the Conservatorium and wish to keep hiring, make sure you tick RENEWAL on your Enrolment Form in the Instrument Hire section, and then you will be invoiced for this. Please remember that there is a limit of 2 successive school year periods of continuous instrument hire, to enable our new beginners to have this opportunity as well
  • If you wish to start hiring an instrument for the first time from the Conservatorium, make sure you tick NEW on your Enrolment form in the Instrument Hire section, and email info@macqcon.org.au to inquire if the instrument is available. If it is, you will be sent an Instrument Hire Form
  • If you have hired an instrument in 2018 and don’t wish to continue instrument hire from the Conservatorium, please let the office know immediately and return the instrument to the Macquarie Conservatorium office by Friday 14 December 2018. Late return of instruments will result in an additional term’s fee.
