Camilla Ward is a qualified and practising K-6 primary teacher since 1995. Camilla has worked in Australia and the United Kingdom, specialising in music and drama, and early childhood music. Camilla was the Youth Arts Development Officer with Arts Queensland from 2004-2006, delivering children’s theatre state wide.

Camilla studied piano, singing and musical theatre with AMEB and Trinity College London, achieving Trinity’s Top of the State Acting in Musical Theatre Grade 8 in 2002. Camilla coordinated and conducted the Olympic Torch Celebration-Mini Musical in Quirindi NSW in 2000. In 2013 she adjudicated and ran debating workshops for the Dubbo Primary Schools Debating Competition, and delivered holiday drama workshops in a number of regional centres for Orana Arts. Camilla is currently running an early childhood music program at the West Dubbo Community Centre.

Camilla is also director of The Creative Voice Studio, a speech and drama studio re-established in Dubbo in 2011 after initially running in Quirindi NSW from 2002-2004. Students from her studio entered the Dubbo City Eisteddfod in 2012 and 2013 and achieved outstanding results in the area of Speech and Drama.

Camilla is passionate about giving very young children an encouraging first experience of music, and providing opportunities for regional children and young adults to “bring out their creative voice within” using the techniques of drama and musical theatre.
