Vivienne Winther is an experienced arts and education administrator, artistic director, music teacher and concert performer.  From 2002 to 2011, she was Artistic Director of Music For Everyone, a leading Canberra arts organisation that won the 2009 National Music in Communities Award as the best all-round community music program in Australia.  She was a part-time lecturer at the ANU School of Music from 1993 to 2011, teaching piano in the pre-tertiary program. She is Artistic Director of Stopera, the ACT’s chamber opera company, and has played a leading role in the production and performance of more than twenty opera seasons and concert events for that company since 1997, including many Australian premieres.  From 1985 to 1992, she was a piano and musicianship teacher in the pre-tertiary music school of the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts, and repetiteur and vocal coach for its Graduate Opera School. Vivienne has appeared in concert with many leading organisations, including the Canberra International Music Festival, National Multicultural Festival, National Gallery of Australia, Sydney Schubert Society, and as a recording artist for ABC Classic FM. In November 2005, Vivienne was named The Canberra Times Artist of the Year, for her vision and achievement in gaining national and international recognition for opera in the ACT.
