MacqCon is launching an advanced chamber choir/high-performance choir, meeting on Wednesdays at 6.30pm, and we would like to invite you to come along for a trial session. Please note members will be invited to audition for this choir, with a maximum of 12 choristers. This ensemble will be conducted by our CEO, Paul Young.

Expectations for Choir Members

As a guideline, prospective choir members should be:

• Proficient music readers

• Skilled in harmony singing

This week and next week, we will host two trial sessions on Wednesday at 6:30pm to help you determine if this ensemble is the right fit for you. Following the trials, selected individuals will be invited to audition.

Repertoire and Major Works

The first piece we will explore is Ubi Caritas by Ola Gjeilo, and future repertoire will follow a similar style. The ensemble will present one major work each year along with several smaller programs. For 2027, the major work will be Rachmaninoff’s Vespers.
