James Collingridge is an alumni of Macquarie Conservatorium, where he first studied acoustic, electric and bass guitar. He completed a Bachelor of Music degree in contemporary music at the Australian Institute of Music Melbourne, majoring in bass guitar and studying ensemble performance, aural and vocal training, composition, improvisation, Latin rhythms and drum skills.

James has performed in a number of contemporary bands, including Adrenaline, which successfully toured around NSW for five years. While attending university in Melbourne, he also performed regularly at many venues with local artists. He is an experienced teacher of acoustic, electric and bass guitar, drumkit and double bass, and has an extensive understanding of jazz, blues, rock and fusion genres.

James joined the teaching staff of Macquarie Conservatorium in 2020.
