2022 Concert Series starts with Latin American music

Latin American rhythms, Japanese film music, a Chopin piano recital plus outstanding chamber ensembles of brass, wind and strings - this year’s Concert Series at Macquarie Conservatorium has a truly diverse range of high-quality artists performing inspiring music.

The series opens on Friday 25 Feburary 7.30pm with Chilean-born pianist, composer and tango expert Daniel Rojas reimagining Latin America’s best-loved music in a concert for piano and strings.

Supported by the high-energy Ensemble Apex String Quartet led by violinist Anna da Silva Chen, Rojas' sensitive arrangements and soulful original works are a heavenly alchemy of tango, mambo and salsa.

The program features music from Rojas’ recent recording, BLISS OF HEAVEN: Music of the New World, including Piazzolla’s dramatic Libertango and Chucho Valdés’ danceable Mambo Influenciado.

Experience the passion of Latin American music as you've never heard it before!
