Instrumental Scholarship awarded to oboe and piano student

Congratulations to Cecilia de Sousa Shaw, winner of the Daily Liberal Instrumental Scholarship, awarded to the most outstanding performer across all instrumental areas – strings, piano, wind and brass – at the City of Dubbo Eisteddfod on Sunday 6 June.

Cecilia is a piano and oboe student at Macquarie Conservatorium. She had a very busy time last week – performing in the Piano section of the Eisteddfod on Saturday 29 May; off to Sydney the next day for four days playing in Regional Youth Orchestra NSW, performing in the Australian World Orchestra’s concert at City Recital Hall; then back to Dubbo to compete in the Wind section of the Eisteddfod on Saturday and Sunday and in the Classical Ensemble section on Monday night. Well done Cecilia!
